Living Life On The Go

Life has been a bit crazy. With three teenage boys and a husband who loves sports also we are always on the go. Here are some pictures of what we have been doing.

My oldest son (Junior) went to Homecoming for the first time with his beautiful girlfriend.

My middle son, who is a freshman, went with a group of friends.

I have been watching a lot of this: (that is my oldest in green, but both my oldest and middle child are running cross country)

And following my youngest baby around while he does a lot of this.

Then I have been playing with a new friend who has determined we are his/her (??) home. Unfortunately my kitty and dog have not been as accommodating. We will see what happens.

And as soon as cross country is over, I will be on the sidelines watching a lot of this.

Life has been busy and full and since they are only a handful of years away from leaving the nest, I don’t want to miss a moment.

What have you been up to?

Time Does Fly

Time does fly

It flies fast.

I don’t post that much because I fear I would be saying the same thing day in and day out.

What would I be saying?

I would say, “raising teenagers is hard.”

Sometimes it is a daily battle, an hourly battle. And sometimes I feel like I am gasping for air.

Then there are days that are sweet and make it all worth it.

I would not trade these days for anything, but that does not mean they are easy.

In fact some days I wonder if I am doing things all wrong and there are so many parents who are better at this parenting job than I am.

And then there are days where I sit down and read this post and spend the rest of my morning cleaning house while bawling…

because I realize how quickly time flies.

And no matter how difficult things can be or become, I appreciate every day, every hour I have with each of my boys.

Are you ready for some…..Soccer (Thought I was going to Say Football, huh?)

Despite still being 10000 degrees outside here in Florida the calendar tells me Fall is around the corner. It is at that time I start signing “This is the most wonderful time of the year.” Anyone who knows me has heard me say a time or two or a thousand that September, October, November are my favorite times of the year; with Thanksgiving being my favorite holiday (I am my Daddy’s girl that way).

IMG_6560_filteredAlso this means we leave the wonderful sport of basketball behind for a couple of months and enter the world of soccer and cross country. My youngest one said he wanted to play soccer again and my two older boys will be running cross country meets almost every Saturday early in the mornings. This has been a new experience for my middle child, he is very athletic and sports minded but his enjoyment with running has surprised me. My oldest will most likely make the varsity team in cross country, he has been working hard on his speed.

This Momma is doing great with her running, but unlike her boys who run 5 miles a day I can only manage 3 miles every other day, and that is with my yelling “I can do all things through Christ” all throughout the last half mile. Oh if I could bottle up some of their endurance and energy.

My youngest son lost his final championship basketball game last night and my two older boys have their championship game on Saturday.  ItIMG_6604_filtered was bitter sweet for my youngest, he scored a lot of points and it was a great game.  But it is hard to win against a player who shots 7 3-pointers in one game.  This player was on their game and unfortunately on the other team.  Ah well.

My husband does a wonderful job coaching, I enjoy watching him with the kids and how they come to respect him and his coaching.  He will be coaching my youngest son’s soccer team also.  I praise God he had me marry a man who loves sports (hmm did I say that I use to curse it, anyways)…what I was saying is if the Lord blessed me with three boys I am so blessed he gave me a man who likes to be right there in the middle of everything they are doing.  When these boys are older I think they will realize what a blessing it was to always have their father there.

Well the pictures in this post were from last year, I will need to dust off my camera and get it ready.  Unfortunately I have not been as good using my camera as I was in the past, but sitting outside watching soccer gives me inspiration.

Hope all is well with you.  Do you like Fall if so what is the one thing you LOVE about the Fall season?
