Sarah’s Choice with Rebecca St. James

Today November 17th, Rebecca St. James brings forth her first leading role on film released by Pure Flix Entertainment. . Sarah’s Choice is a pro-life message. The film’s story line follows a young career woman on the fast track to success in the corporate world when she discovers she’s pregnant outside of marriage.

St. James has made a consistently bold statement on the abstinence agenda throughout her career—a statement that has taken her to the White House, as well as into the broader stage of the national mainstream spotlight for her outspoken stand on faith and values issues facing America’s youth.

Rebecca feels that the pro life message in “Sarah’s Choice” is one that holds promise of helping young women to choose “life” as the decision of choice in unplanned pregnancy. She was personally deeply impacted by her role in the film, noting in a recent interview: “I think the biggest thing the film imparted to me—both in researching the role and in portraying the character—was a real sense of empathy for women who find themselves in the situation my character found herself in. My heart goes out to them as I have seen the extreme amount of pressure and fear that can come from outside sources at a vulnerable time such as this. Too often, young women choose abortion and subsequently suffer the immeasurable pain that often comes with living with regret and guilt. I came away from the movie with a real passion to positively impact this cycle with the message of God’s heart for the unborn.”

I was given a review copy of this movie from Morning Star Productions and I have to say I enjoyed this movie. You can see how “well meaning” people can give you false information (watch this clip), or how misleading information that can lead to the death of a baby. The only truth you will find is through Jesus and His word (watch this clip). Along with an ultrasound, I believe this movie should be showing to every newly pregnant single mother (or anyone considering abortion).

Will you join us in prayer asking God to use this movie in a powerful way in reach millions of people. A child’s life may depend on it. You can read more about the movie “Sarah’s Choice” on this website.

Looking Back

Thank you for your kind comments concerning my first video blog. And if you missed me making fun of myself, see here.

Taking a vacation the week before school begins, has me all discombobulated. I was forced to face the fact that all my children are out of elementary school now. With two in middle school and one in high school, testosterone HAS been running rapid around here.   S  I  G  H I sure miss the baby baby stage……except for the up all night, oh and the poopy diapers, and the loud crying for no reason-no matter what you do.  Besides that, I miss the baby baby stage.  I miss the smell after bath time, or a huge belly laugh, or cooing and smiling.  Think manly man will let me start over again?  Yeah me neither, I think he is looking to forward to retirement. Oh wait what was I talking about, sorry began day dreaming there… oh yeah teenagers.

Don’t get me wrong I am enjoying each stage of all my boys life (well maybe I am anxiously waiting for maturity to hit my 8th grader a bit, but that is to be expected).  Anyways along with the joys are also challenges.   Trying to keep them fed is a challenge but compound that with a son who is participating in cross country and runs a minimum of 2 to 7 miles after school, my food bill is soaring to new heights. Oldest son even had the gull to come home and tell me that his running coach said I was not feeding him enough.

I said, really??? Did the coach see you devour 7 slices of pizza the other night, or 3 pieces of chicken the night before, not to mention the bag of cookies that only lasted 2 days?? YiYiYiYi  Anyways, change of subject.

I had a wonderful evening Wed night teaching Kathy Howard’s bible study “Before His Throne.” There were some technical difficulties on my part, oh and the fact that I showed up to my own bible study with no…BIBLE, but besides these snags we have a wonderful group. I am so excited to see how God will move in these next nine weeks.

Have a wonderful weekend and I would love to read how your week went.  Did “back to school” go smoothly for you?  Also I have a question about video blogging on my community page that I would love your thoughts on.

Here are some great reads for this weekend:

I loved reading this post about contentment.

I have to say I am tossing around an idea of re-thinking how I do Facebook.

This looks yummy, linking so I can come back and make these.

Off to meet a new blogger friend in real life. I am excited, but nervous.

Looking Back & Book Winners

I guess it is perfect that this is my 1000th post (VALENTINE’S DAY NO LESS). The fact that I WROTE and you READ 1000, of my posts amazes me. Thank you does not cover how I feel.  I am blown away when I look back and see where the Lord has taken me since I began blogging.

Through blogging and reading your words of wisdom I have drawn closer to God.  Sometimes drew closer by what was said, sometimes it made me go read and research what I believed myself.

The friendships I have made are a blessing.  Many of you have seen me through several surgeries and bad days of being a Mom, but your words of encouragement and love lifted my spirits!

Through blogging the door to reviewing books opened up to me.  I LOVE reading.  God blessed me in allowing me to review books I believe will help you grow closer to God.  The opportunity to know some of these wonderful authors humbles me!

I don’t know where God is leading next and my plan is to stay faithful to Him.  My prayer is that whatever I do in some shape or form, leads you back to Him.  Ok now on to my “Looking Back” links.

Can I just tell you I am DROOLING over the Kindle 2!  If anyone would like to donate one to this book reviewer I would be forever grateful.

If you enjoy reading and you are in the Dallas area did you know they are having a Christian Book ExpoOh my lands all my favorite authors under one roof.  It would be like a kid going to Disneyland.

You may know John Piper but CJ Mahaney did a great, quick interview with John Piper (who rarely does interviews).

My sister sent me this wonderful list of The 125 Healthiest Supermarket Foods in America. I love it and bookmarked it for reference.

Happy Valentine’s Day

For my Valentine’s Day treat I am not only giving one book away (as stated before) but two additional one also for a total of THREE BOOK WINNERS.
