I am new (as in new in the last year) to Carlos Whittaker’s and his music. But I have to share with you, his new album that was released this month ranks right up there with Travis Cottrell in my book (Carlos hope you don’t mind being compared to Travis). Carlos’ Ragamuffin Soul, brings you to the throne of God.
His song “No Words” catches in my throat as I sing along. “God of Second Chances” is a song of hope and grace that takes my breath away. And Carlos version of “Your Name” had me stop my mopping one day to stand and worship God. “In Your Presence” takes my breath away.
Some of the lyrics take my breath away because I catch myself singing “Lord take my expectations away, save me from my comfort, break me of things” and I stop and think, do I really mean what I am saying?
Now I do warn you, you may be caught with the song “Grace Already Won” blaring out your windows when a certain police officer pulls you over. Granted it won’t be for speeding, it will be because you are to busy listening to Ragamuffin Soul to remember to put your registration sicker on your license plate. Or at least that is what I have heard.
Anyways Ragamuffin Soul by Carlos Whittaker will take your broken, weary heart and bring it right to the throne of God, it will challenge your comfort zone while reminding you God is with you and His grace has already won!
