So This Is What a Post Looks Like

I have recently returned from visiting family in Phoenix and I am still processing everything. The vacation began as a week away to recharge, but it ended up being so much more. I have to admit I am not ready to write about all of it yet, not because it is top secret but because I am still processing everything and emotions are still raw right now.

But I can not begin to tell you how much this made me feel better:

I had a wonderful time playing and loving on my nieces and nephews, in fact believe it or not I was so busy I did not take a single picture with my camera. <GASP>

One of the highlights of the trip was being able to meet Debbie from Heart Choices and Iris from Grace Alone. Debbie and I “just clicked” via blog world and I knew the minute we met face to face we would be great friends. Not only did we click but we both showed up wearing almost the exact same outfit. Smart minds think alike I tell ya!

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Iris before, so I was excited to be able to sit down with my sweet friend again. Remember what I said about “smart minds” well Debbie and I were wearing white pants with black shirts and Iris showed up with black pants and a white shirt. It was very funny. The minute we sat down the conversation flowed freely and I was blessed to be able to sit there and soak it all in. God knew I was going to need this day of refreshment of girlfriends.

I also had a wonderful time with both of my sisters. What I love about sisters is that you can be yourself, you can disagree, you can be silly, you can cry your eyes out, and share your heart and you know they will still be the biggest cheerleaders for you (and I for them). They are also people who don’t let you sell yourself short. When you aim for mediocre, they kick you in the butt and tell you that you need to be aiming higher. People you can be raw with, that is what I love about sisters. Sigh I miss both of them already.

School begins Monday (the loud cheering will be me), bible study begins on Wednesday, and while I was gone I received many wonderful books. I am still trying to play catch up so I apologize that I have not been the best blog visitor. I need to get past teaching bible study on Wed and then I think I will feel more relaxed =).

I pray all is well with you. If there is anything I could be praying for you please let me know.

It Was a Good Sunday Afternoon

Ran away to the beach with some friends.

There was sand everywhere

For those who don’t care for the sand, there was basketball.

And it is only a matter of time for this to happen if you give boys something to swing.

And new friends were made.

My New Long Distant Friends

Friends When you are a blogger, you would like to believe that people are who they say they are, but unfortunately you are never 100% sure. Then sometimes you get to meet bloggers face to face and in an instant you know if you lived close to each other you would become close friends (just like it I felt when I meet my first blogger friend Iris). Rachel from Raisingfive.com and Katherine Anne from Home Sanctuary were able to meet Shanna and I for dinner.

On our first night arriving, Shanna and I had just checked into our hotel when Katherine and Rachel arrived.   Giddy like little girls, we were off to dinner with Rachel and Katherine.  To say they blessed my heart is an understatement.  We went to dinner at Uncle Julio’s Mexican food.  I was thrilled because in Florida they just do not have Mexican food like Texas or Arizona does!

We were four girls talking non-stop feeling like we had so much to catch up on.  It was a great evening and I was already sad that I may not see them for the remaining of the trip.  But Rachel was able to come to the Expo on the last day (yipppee!) and we had a wonderful time catching up and visiting with Lisa Welchel.  (To answer your question about the picture with Lisa, yes she is shorter but I was also wearing heels so it makes me look REALLY TALL!).

Anyways, I know I would have enjoyed the trip even if we did not get a chance to catch up with Rachel and Katherine but to me they were the icing on the cake, the cherry on top, that leaves me longing for more.  They just better watch out, they may wake up one day and find this Floridian girl on their door step with a cup of coffee!

Katherine/Rachel I already miss you.  Thank you so much for your friendship.  God has truly blessed me.
