What if

Many of us are afraid to dream, afraid to step out of the shadows and ask the question “What if?”

What if I was more obedient and followed God closer?

Don Miller wrote a powerful post on the question What if. I encourage you to read it, but not just the article but the comments also.  It will touch you deeply.

Then a few days ago Don Miller issued a challenge : write down five “what if” questions.

    “Several years ago, I asked the question What if the 360,000 churches in America could each have a mentoring program and out of that question came one of the most exciting adventures in my life, The Mentoring Project. Bill Hybles once asked What if there were a church in this field? Rick Warren asked What if we could bring peace to the continent of Africa? Out of these questions came stories that have positively affected millions.” -Don Miller

What if we begin asking the question, “what if.”

What if I stopped being fearful every time God places a new challenge in front of me?

What if I released this anxiety and replaced it with total faith in God?

What if I stepped out of my comfort zone?

What if I loved deeply and allowed myself to become vulnerable with others?

What if I wrote more?

How about you, what would your five “what if’s” be?

As Don says, “The truth is, God gives you wisdom and direction and morality and His presence and support, and then asks you to live, to conquer, to risk and experience the whole of life. People grow when they are in motion.”

So

What If I am Not Thankful?

Paul said he has learned to be satisfied in all circumstances. Paul said these words after being forced to leave Thessalonica because of legal action taken against him. The Jews were hostile towards him and his message. With imprisonment being threatened he found himself in a situation that looked hopeless to our physical eyes. But it was at this time Paul wrote “rejoice always”, “give thanks”, and “be satisfied”. (click here to read the rest)

So Lori what has kept you so busy these last few months (I mean besides book reviewing, raising three boys and a husband, laundry, dishes, etc..) I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED!

Christian Women Affiliate... here!

I received a sweet phone called several months ago from Noelle Mena of Take Root and Write, she asked me to join her in this awesome adventure of providing a place where Christian Women can connect.

You would think I would JUMP at an opportunity and being the adventurer that I am I gave her EVERY reason why she does NOT want me. We did schedule a dinner date so she could explain things better but I hung up the phone and thought “no way” to far out of my comfort zone. I explained this to my husband, who I thought would say “You made a wise decision honey.”

Instead he looked me straight in my face and said, “Honey I am so tired of you not believing in yourself, this is something you need to be apart of.” Well humpf that did not go as planned.

Doors are opening over at Christian Women Affiliate! Are you in yet?

This all occurred  before my last trip to Phoenix and I was having coffee with my sweet sister in law (who I think secretly teamed up with my husband) and she said, “Lori you sell yourself short all the time. You need to do this.”

I returned from Phoenix, met Noelle in real life and as they say…the rest is history. Noelle is the real deal, she loves Jesus with all her heart. And boy can this girl make dreams a reality. I am more of a detail, list type of person. So in reality I think God placed Noelle and I together because we are some what opposites. I am Noelle’s Head Administrator over at CWA. She pushes me out of my comfort zone and I help her stay grounded. ha!
