“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”
-Walter Winchell
I could do a whole post on the negative aspects of blogging, but tonight instead I am going to talk to you about the great aspects. It never ceases to amaze me how God provides just the right person to encourage me or offer me support or just be there during different seasons of my life. When I was preparing for public speaking, the Lord brought many people who have gone before me and could offer wisdom and advice. When I was going through some private struggles the Lord would bring the right person with just the right background. I would go to bed some nights in wonder, knowing the meeting was a God thing.
Well there is a small group blogger friends I consider close friends, but mainly there is one person I have known from the beginning. She has known the good, bad and ugly and for some reason she still talks to me.
I have had the opportunity to actually sit down twice with Iris and talk face to face. It was funny the last time it was almost like we could complete each other’s sentences, yet we have only met face to face twice.
Iris thank you for my beautiful calendar that you made above, thank you for sending things my way when you know I am lower than a snake’s belly. And the quote from Walter Winchell above describes how I feel. So many times I have felt friends come and then walk out of my life, but you have been the consistant force that has supported me even during my ugly times, my times of insecurity, my times of the unknown. And during those times you pointed me to HIM.
The fact I am doing this publicly will no doubt embarrass you but I wanted to show in some small way how much your friendship has meant to me.
Thank you.
PS if you don’t know my friend Iris at Grace Alone you should!

I have been blogging since 2007 (wow time sure flies when you are having fun). There are many people I come across within the vast world wide web who bless my socks off. Many times if you are on Facebook and/or on Twitter I may link to their site or a certain post.
