First Game

My oldest son made the JV team this year and last night was his first game. He is not a starter, but he did play for about 4 minutes last night. The good news is they won their first game!!

Yipppeeee, looking forward to an exciting season. These pictures were taken by my mother in law, I was to busy video taping =) Basketball1 I love this photo! This is son and Dad. My husband is the coach for the Freshman quad, but he helps out on the bench during the JV games. Basketball3 with Dad

Spring Break 2009

I survived, the end.  Ok, it was better than that…

If I was honest I think I would have to say last week was the most relaxed and enjoyable Spring Break, but don’t tell hubby K? He may say “I told you so” with the fact he said it would be easier.

What made it easier was Spring Break Basketball Camp.  They slept in and then in the afternoon enjoyed camp from 3 to 7:30 each day.  They were successfully worn out by the end of the day.  We all had the best of both worlds, they played and I enjoyed peace and quiet.

If they were not playing basketball during camp then they were playing here at home. Like fish to water, so are my boys and basketball. It does not matter if it is rain or shine and since we live in Florida sometimes it is more rain.

All three boys performed well during camp, the coach called them the “3pt Trio.” My oldest actually won the free throw challenge. I was the obnoxious Mom cheering them on.

Our week ended by me and my two older boys watching The Passion of Christ on Good Friday. They had not been allowed to see it before. It was not an easy movie to watch and I think it affected my middle child more (the one who usually shows little emotion), but they were both happy they decided to watch the movie. Manly Man and my youngest stayed back to enjoy some quality time.

It was a good week.  One little secret I did not realize until I was a parent, is parents develop spring fever after Spring Break also.  I am looking forward to summer, but saying goodbye to elementary school forever this year has my heart breaking also.

Sorry Mom I did not believe you before, but I do now.  They grow to fast.

There is Never Downtime Here

Football has ended and basketball is in full swing. My two older boys are on two different leagues and my youngest on one. Believe me homework comes first!

You can tell each game becomes more intense because the more intense the less pictures I take. By the time we got to my oldest son’s game I had only taken two pictures.

My youngest son had his game first. It is with Upwards Basketball at our church.

It was a lot of fun watching these kids play.

His team won!

Then we had middle son. On his team they play three on three. I know it looks like we don’t feed this bean pole, but in reality he eats us out of house and home!

Here he is going for the basket. They won their game!

Middle Driving the Ball 2009

Then we had our oldest son’s game. My goodness does it get intense when they are older (hence why I only have one photo). Oldest son hit the back of his head on metal bleachers while driving for the ball and he also banged his head on the floor diving for the ball. He was fine, but it was enough to stop this mother’s heart. His team lost, but they played a very skilled team. So we were happy with the score!
