It reminds me of what I used to hear about reading: "Those who don't read have no advantage over those who can't." When I merely skim the scriptures without meditating I miss the work that the Holy Spirit- my Counselor- wants to do in my heart, which is instruct me according to His Word. In that regard and in that moment, I have no advantage over those who don't have the Holy Spirit at all, I don't think. Praise God that in this area He is SO good to "restore the years the locusts have eaten" when I do read meditatively. He teaches me SO much when I do s-l-o-w down and prayerfully drink in His Word.<br/><br/>Thank you SO much for this post.
