What Are You Doing Today?

YourVoteCounts

Voting
by Bernard Howe
Voting is our given right,
which men have died to keep.
Voting shows our peoples might,
so our country won’t get into deep.

But there are those who never vote,
and constantly seem to complain.
Patriotism they don’t promote,
and their rights they choose to abstain.

Every vote does really count,
to let our officials know.
For their actions they must account,
or their ratings will never grow.

So come next election time,
go cast your vote with pride.
Voting doesn’t cost a dime,
plus the out come you help decide.

**************************************************

I do want to say, even though I voted. And even though I voted my values, I know whatever happens it is part of God’s plan. I serve the God that is above Presidents, above Kings or Queens, above all. He is in control, that is all that matters! Win or lose on this election does not matter in the grand scheme of things…I have already won when I accepted Christ as my Savior.

There is ONLY ONE WAY
There is ONLY ONE WHO I LIVE FOR.

Enjoy and Give Praise with me today!

  1. I’m voting probably sometime late this morning. Did you vote early or absentee? On my blog today I am asking people about their voting experience (not who they are voting for, but how).

  2. I like what you had to say! Yes, we know and fully trust that God is holding all the pieces to the puzzle of our lives…and we TRUST that He will take care of us—through all of life’s unseen circumstances!

Angies last blog post..Look What’s In Store!!

  3. Amen!!!
I was on my way to the polls early this morning and was listening to The Rick and Bubba Show (my husband’s truck was automatically tuned in). It was the top of the hour, so they were “reintroducing” themselves. Then they played a song by the Crabb Family (kinda interesting on a Southern/Classic Rock station). The name of the song was “Through the Fire” (here’s a link to the lyrics: http://www.thecrabbfamily.com/lyrics/throughthefire.html) and they just played the first verse and chorus. I totally “had church” right there in the truck (even though I am not the biggest fan of Southern Gospel), and was at complete peace with the fact that God is IN CONTROL!!
Thanks for sharing this today, Laurel. (Sorry for all of the parenthetical statements…just trying to clarify a few things!) ;-)

Also, I’ve tagged you for a middle name meme over at my blog. No obligation, just needed an “L” and you were the first one to come to my mind! ;-)

  4. Thankful you are pointing all to who is in control.

I blogged a letter to Obama about abortion. I am only one voice, but right now I cannot be silent.

May God continue to show mercy on America.

  5. This is the day after…all I can say is that I prayed, left it at His feet. He is THE ONE who puts people in power and takes them out. The people asked God for a King and He gave them one and then they were not happy, because it was not what He wanted for them, He wanted the best and they chose the desires of the flesh. NOW, we have to look to the author and finisher of our faith. Praying for revival among His people, may it come quickly. Thanks for this great post. Blessings on your day. By the way I did vote…early voted too. I would not waste that privelege…just wanted you to know that I did vote.
