What goes up must come down. That is just the law of physics. It is also a characteristic of (at least my) spiritual highs. I wrote my “Thursday Thankful” post when I was up, my heart was so full, I was praising God, had the music blaring. When I woke up Thursday morning I felt anything BUT up. I praise God I wrote it the day before. In a way though, it turned out to be such a blessing for me. The comments that I got from you guys, blessed me. Most likely they were nice comments you thought you were leaving, but did not mean anything “deep” about them. Well, let me tell you, you blessed me right down to my toes.
Blessings to you today and always.
Your words say exactly how I have been feeling.
It’s nice to come here and be uplifted.
What a blessing you are
Now tell me, HOW in the world can I be feeling down when I read such encouraging words from y’all.
All day I have been fighting my “down” feeling. I have been giving my worries to the Lord (hourly), I have been praying for others (to try to keep my thoughts off myself), and all I have to do is turn my computer on and I have the nicest most uplifting comments. You don’t know how much I needed them today.
Thank you.
And thank you for allowing me to read all your thankful posts, it really did lift me up.
Laurel, you are a constant encourager here in your web-home. I am glad God blessed you today and lifted your spirits.
Sending ((Hugs)) and the love of Jesus across the miles.
Thanks for always being an honest reflection of His grace.
The Lord knows our hearts and knows just what we need when we need it. You did all of the things He asks You to do – and He blessed your obedient heart.
You have such a lovely spirit Laurel. I’m so glad you were blessed, because you bless everyone who reads your heart.
This week I memorized this verse; may it be an encouragement to you.
How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7
It’s the Lord who knows what you needed. You’ve always been such an encourager so I’m glad you were blessed with encouragement when you needed it!
Hoping you are feeling better. Yeah, when we feel the most joy and praise a sudden fall often follows. It even happened with Jesus–”This is my belived Son” and bam, into the desert to b tempted. If it can happen to Him it can happen to us. Praying you through.
God is good – isn’t He?
Thanks mainly to you the first Thankful Thursday hosted by Sting my Heart was splendid – so thank you!!!!
Blessings my friend!
You are one of the most encouraging, uplifting people I have ever “met”. I hope you know what you mean to not only me, but many many other women that you touch on a daily basis.
I pray that you feel God’s mighty hand on you all day long, lifting YOU up!
Ah…Laurel, timing is EVERYTHING! Well, so is perspective
. Yours is “good” on both accounts.
As you know, I’ve been…busy…lately, but I just wanted to extend my congratulations to your Sweet Scent “Joyful” award. You’re one of the most “real” positive bloggers I’ve read, and I always am uplifted and encouraged by your…well…joyfilled words
.
Even when youre discouraged, youre encouraging
Youre right, what goes up will come down, and as long as we know it, expect it, it’s less overwhelming. Because when youre down, you’ll eventually come up again. oxxoxo
I love how this happens. I have made such wonderful friends who encourage and inspire… Hope your Friday is awesome!!
