Sarah Palin

I am NOT NOT NOT a political blog, but it is my personal blog so I am going to take liberty in writing this post.  Also I am about as far from a feminist as you can get.

Sarah Palin has been someone I have truly enjoyed getting to know.  I don’t believe in holding anyone up on a pedestal, I learned the hard way about “looking” up to (wo)man too much, but there are many things about Sarah Palin that I admire.

Will I vote for her if she ran for President?  THAT I am not sure about, but what I do like is how she has become an example to young girls everywhere.  She is an example of someone (a woman!) who can hold conservative values, believe abortion is wrong, stand up for family values….and make a big impact.  She has stood up against the status quo and won.

She has been an inspiration to this almost 40 year old.

So what do I like exactly?

1. She is pro-life and has walked the walked in her own life.  Abortion is wrong…PERIOD.

2. She is PRO MILITARY.  My Dad (and several Uncles) served and I married into a military family.  This is huge for me personally.

3. She believes marriage is between one woman and one man. PERIOD.

4. She believes that people have the right to own guns.

5. Does NOT support government health care.

So to me this is someone who has my admiration, and by showing my admiration/support I have ordered her book (Amazon says it is on its way!).

Now this post is not a “go buy her book” post, but I do know that money talks.  Washington is NOT getting the news that we are not happy with the way  things are going currently (no matter what party you support), well maybe Sarah Palin Going Rogue: An American Life shooting up as a bestseller will get their attention.

Ok political post over.  Feel free to leave your comments, all I ask is you be respectful.

  1. Like you, I admire her determination and passion to stand up for what she believes in whether it is the “politically correct” thing or not. I'd be interested to hear your opinions on her book. It sounds like an interesting read.

  2. I love this post- well said. I see my own perspective of Sarah Palin in your post. I do think she represents many women across the United States. Her family has endured the trials and tribulations of life, which we all do! I do like her and what she represents.

  3. Thank you for stopping by. I have greatly enjoyed reading her book (that is
what I have been doing over Thanksgiving). I will be doing a book review on
her book over on my book review site possibly later this month. I am
enjoying her book more than I thought I would, it is an easy read. She had
me laughing out loud in several places.

    Have a great day.

  4. I am so glad to see you posting this…I have to admit, I am not a “big” political junkie type person and tend to never bring up the subject on my blog, but I too LOVE Sarah Palin. Is she perfect, no, but as believers we know that none of us are. Does she stand for the same things I do, you betcha, which is why she won my heart and admiration. I do not envy all she has been through, but I am so proud of her and the impact she is making! Great post Lori!

  5. I have never been one to get involved in politics but ladies there comes a time when I think God calls us to stand up for our beliefs and I think now is the time. Sarah Palin reflects my beliefs and I want to see God put back into this country. I feel it is my duty to help choose christian leaders if I want my children and grandchildren to be able to live in a christian nation. I am a old lady now and have lived long enough to realize that “all it takes for evil to flourish is for good men(christian people) to do nothing”. I'm not sure where that quote comes from but I do
know it is true. I pray always for christians everywhere to prevail over evil and apathy but I know God expects me to help where I am able.
