Works For Me Wednesday

I married a meat and potatoes type of man. One thing that helps me with dinners, is after a “big shopping” of buying meats, I come home and make up my favorite marinade (I have about three that I use for chicken, steak, and pork chops). Before I throw the meats into the freezer, I divide the meats into dinner portions into a large freezer Ziploc bags, and then pour the marinade in each bag. Toss in the freezer. They stack up nicely. In the morning I take one of the the ziploc bag of meat out to thaw and by dinner it is ready to grill (George Forman is my buddy =)). Head over here for more useful tips.

  1. I gotta silly question… I am a HORRIBLE meat buyer! My hubs says I am attracted to crumby meat.. any advice on how to find GREAT meat to buy!?!

  2. Yay! I love this. We get an assembly line going at our house. I cut up chicken breasts into portions and J divvies up marinades. Since it’s just the two of us, we do four portions per bag (diner and leftovers for lunch).

  3. That’s smart! We’re not big meat eaters, but when we do, we love to grill it – I love the idea of freezing the meat in the marinade!

  4. I really like that idea. It will save time and energy in the long run too, which as a working mom, I could really use.
