It is hard to believe we are already on our last day of January for 2009. Life goes fast sometimes.
I read this powerful post and I like when she said, “…….that what drives people away from Christ is the Christian who does not know how to love.”
Jenna and Laura Bush give President Obama’s two daughters some advice on living in the White House (may need a tissue or 20). (MOM WATCH THIS)
If you want to stock up on some great books Sovereign Grace is having their yearly “ridiculous sale” beginning Feb. 1st. Grab them while supplies last.
An author I enjoy very much is offering some free books. Megan DiMaria is offering book clubs a free copy of either Searching for Spice or Out of Her Hands (which I reviewed here).
For Mothers with younger children (or if you are one of my sisters), who often worries about finding time to do devotions, read this and be blessed.
Lori, I’m beginning to look forward to your Saturday posts about looking back on your week. What a great idea! I’m sure it causes you to keep your eyes open and attentive for things to learn or simply touch your heart. Thank you for sharing the video about the Bush twins and yes, it brought tears to my eyes. To me, it said volumes about their character. I clicked on each link you added and I was blessed too. I had read about Annie Rice’s faith but this was new info in the article. And I do think that as Christians we are to love, not only the ones who are easy to love but also the unlovely. After all, God loved me even before I loved Him back and for that I’m eternally thankful.

Looking back I have had a great January. Started off sick with some wacko bugo for the first two weeks. I was isolated because I couldn’t go out and risk passing it on and with all that time on my hands (that I always want!) I was too depressed to work.
Somewhere in those weeks, when I wasn’t noticing and in between complaints and poor mes and hours and hours of sleep, my connection to God jumped up another level or two or three.
Sometimes God has to knock us out of the game so that we can come back stronger. I needed to be tired and isolated so that my busyness would stop getting in his way.
The last two weeks I have felt more bliss, contentment, energy, focus and humor that I can remember in a long, long time.
Thanks for the topic – hugs to you,
Viveca

I heard the clip from the Bush twins a week or so ago. Loved it and, yes, I needed those tissues!
January did go too fast. I also heard about the Bush twins letter. Happy February.
PS, your little gift is on it’s way
I’m just a tad bit slow, aren’t i?
