Coming back from vacation is hard. Coming back to serious back pain and having a tooth cause a lot of pain was almost unbearable. I had a permanent tooth pulled last Thursday. I really fought not having the tooth pulled, but it was a tooth that had two root canals already and it was my last tooth on the top right hand side. So it was time to go. I think the idea that I am not even 40 yet and I am already losing teeth is what hit me the hardest. And because I am naive I did not think having a tooth pulled would be “that big of a deal.” Boy was I wrong. It hurt like the dickens, I can only drink liquids for three days then I can move to soft pasta. Ug.
Bright side I think I will lost the weight I gained from vacation. But seriously I don’t recommend this weight loss plan.
The oldest and youngest boys begin a new round of basketball, middle son has decided to sit this one out (which is fine with me!). My youngest has really taken to golf, he had a week of lessons this summer and will be getting some more soon (it was a birthday present). The golf coach was impressed, in fact my youngest son is in his first golf tournament on the 28th. I am so happy that he has found something he really enjoys, but seriously with golf I hear the sucking of my wallet. Ha! No seriously I am happy for him, and it is something that is purely HIS because his two older brothers don’t play golf yet.
I hope you had a great week. Here are a few links worthy of your time to read.
It is so easy to get off track, praise God we have someone that gently nudges us when we begin to chase rabbit trails. This post at My Quiet Corner, could have been written by me also. She hit the nail on the head concerning things I was struggling with before my vacation.
You have to go see this video at Jumps 4 Joy

OW, OW, OW… about the back pain and tooth. I hope you weren't too miserable on vacation! Hope you are back to 100% soon (and back to eating real food)
How great that your boys all seem to be finding a sport they enjoy! Nice that it can be part of their summer too to help break the monotony. Although I can relate, when they decide to take a break it is nice for the mom now and then to slow the schedule just a bit!
Thanks for the link! I'm so glad it resonated with you and that God has helped us both get “back on track”! Moving forward… together!
Happy weekend to you!!
Oh Lori, sorry to hear about your tooth. And no that's not the best way to lose weight but I understand the thrill. LOL. Thank you for posting about Lexi's Jumps 4 Joy. She's such an adorable teen. Is that really possible? YES, she is. And has a heart for the hurting. Love it. And I'll pop over to My Quiet Corner to read that one.
I hope you feel better soon. Love you.
I completely agree with you with the tooth/teeth thing. Getting teeth pulled is not fun, and I have struggled with it a lot in my life. Seems like a minor thing, but oh how it effects things.
Horay for the boys in sports. My younger brothers have a lot of fun in organized sports, and it's very fun to go watch and support them in the things they enjoy. We have only had one experience with boys in sports, my oldest boy is 3 1/2. But my daughter has been in dance, and has been since she was 2. Oh how fun to watch that too.
Thanks for stopping by. I use to love watching Dance (when my friends did
it, while I was growing up).
I just told my hubby that it is not the problem of getting old (one more year in my 40's), but the pain that comes with it
…
I am sorry that you had to get the tooth pulled – no fun indeed.
How cool that your youngest is getting into golf. Maybe one day he will play in the big league
Well I am glad I am your friend, I have one more yr in my 30's, so you will
have to help me through my 40's. Ha!
On Monday of this week, at age 35, I had my first crown, so I literally feel your pain! I thought only old ladies lost teeth and we are certainly NOT old ladies!
Thanks for joining me in misery, ha! You are right WE are not old.
