I love Fall Giveaway – Day 1

I am so excited you have joined us for my “I love Fall” giveaway. Instead of a lot of words….let get started.

Every day this week I will have a giveaway on my site PLUS, PLUS, PLUS…..

I will be highlighting a new blogger each day this week and she will be hosting a giveaway on her site! So you have the opportunity to enter my giveaway and her giveaway. That is at least two chances to win.

Fine print: Only enter each giveaway once. Giveaways are for everyone unless it says (US and Canada only). You do not need a blog to enter, just a valid email. All winners will be announced here Wednesday, September 10th. You will be able to enter each giveaway until September 9th.

inside bagOver 25 different samples and GREAT coupons for various online retails. (Christmas is not that far away)
There are a few jewelry pieces.

Seriously, to much to list…

All the items are samples, but this bag is FILLED! (US and Canada only)

(be patient if it is not up will be shortly – ALL FIXED)

Giveaway #2 for Monday

down I have greatly enjoyed this particular blogger. If you had not met Deedra….well let me tell you about her, in her own words:

I live in the south, on a farm, my neighbor insists on standing in his yard naked from time to time.. My Mom is bi polar…lots of material there, bless her heart…my sister in law dated both my brothers-in-law in high school and recently married one of them, oh! and the other one performed the ceremony…etc..etc…you get my point?! Despite all of these things, I am not some freaky southern fried freak of a freak. I am relatively normal Southern Baptist woman, and both normal and abnormal things tend to happen around here,

Not only is she wonderful but she has some great goodies over at her site for you….but be sure to come on back I have more….and could someone tell this city slicker what the heck is “Mule Day?”

  1. OK, I would really love the amazon gift cert because the thing I shop for most online is BOOKS. But at Christmas I do a lot of shopping on line. When the holidays approach maybe deal finder could let us know who is having great deals on toys and/or electronics to give as Christmas gifts.

  2. lol…I forgot I wrote that! I’ve never really been a “keep things in” kinda girl!

Great post! Thanks for letting me participate!!

  3. I can’t believe you have taken on ANOTHER project–I can barely keep up with all mine and I don’t have nearly as many AND I don’t have a slew of boys playing sports OR a full time job. You are going to wear yourself out. No wonder you buy clothes online.:) I don’t–they never fit right, of course I get all mine from the thrift shop. :) The only things I buy online are computer parts and books, plus the occasional groceries from Amazon.com.

  4. Wow. Love giveaways!

Do we need separate comments for each of the giveaways you’re having today? I’ll list them together — let me know if I need separate ones.

I didn’t see your interview up yet at CWO, but I looked Mary up at christianbook.com. One of her books is When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister?

I buy many things online: books, clothes (particularly plus-sizes and particularly dresses), “geeky” stuff as gifts for husband and kids (particularly at ThinkGeek.com), decorative items for the home, hand-made craft items, music CDs, DVDs, bed linens, jewelry. I’d be interested in deals on any of those!

  5. One of Mary Pierce’s books: WHEN DID MY LIFE BECOME A GAME OF TWISTER.

I spend the most money online buying books because there is virtually a limitless selection online. I also love handmade items, or unique things that I couldn’t find nearby. I spend the most money at amazon.com and ebay.

Finally, I buy instructional-type things. Bible teaching tapes, Bible memory cards, anything that helps me teach the kids, learn more about God, or acquire a new skill!

  6. I wanna win the Amazon GC! :) The things I buy online and books and gadgets. Not really clothes, but I’d love to if there were really nice deals on dresses. Also, I love to buy crafty supplies online too. Thanks!

  7. One of Mary’s Pierce’s books is: Confessions of a Prayer Wimp.

I don’t shop for a ton of things online. Two things I do buy are books and photo prints. MrsDeal Finder is a great idea. I would lilke to see deals for books (mainly kids books), cheap photo prints, or things for free shipping.

  8. Mary’s books are good. The Confessions of a Prayer Wimp hit home when I read it. It is a very good title to draw people to the book.
I shop on line mainly for books. Half(dot)com is a good site to get books at a good rate. MrsDeal Finder is a great idea.My husband is the best deal finder there is, he always looks for a “good deal” so I know he would love this site. Thanks for doing all of this and for the heads up. Blessings. My email is dlowran1(at)comcast(dot)net.

  9. 1.Confessions of a Prayer Wimp: My Fumbling, Faltering Foibles in Faith (Paperback)
    by Mary Pierce (Author

2.Mule Day, an annual celebration of all things related to mules, is held in Columbia, Tennessee, the self-proclaimed “Mule Capital” of the world. Begun in 1840 as a meeting for breeders, it now attracts 300,000 people and takes place over four days. In addition to mules, traditional Appalachian food, music, dancing, and crafts are featured.[1]
3.I would love the GC. I am an Amazon junkie…..

I would love to see deals on teaching items for teachers and substitute teachers. I would love to see deals on writing supplies. Pens, paper etc.

What fun… much love and God Bless…

  10. Mary Pierce wrote Confessions of a Prayer Wimp :)

“Mule Day” in Columbia, Tennessee has been a tradition since around 1840, when the first Monday in April brought huge crowds to the animal livestock show and Mule Day Market (originally called ‘Breeder’s Day’).

I shop for men’s and women’s casual clothing online; sometimes shoes. I’d like to see an alphabetical index of the stores you’re covering.

    *Thanks* for the giveaways!

  11. Before I forget the title – “Confessions of a Prayer Wimp”. This is such a sweet thing for you to do Laurel. I have been reading and not commenting (trying to budget my time), but I am excited about the Giveaway.
Thanks so much. Have a fun Labor Day!!

  12. Prayer Whimp, by Mary Pierce.
I love your site! Giveaways, goodies and Down on The Farm! Too funny!I buy lots of envelopes and love pretty ones!I went crazy with all the school supplies offered lately! Also office supplies, I’d love some deals on those! They have some great ones on Amazon! So glad I found your site!

  13. “When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister” is a title of one of Mary’s books. It’s an attention grabbing title at that.

I love great deals! I purchase most of my books online (just easier and usually less expensive even with shipping), skincare products, Snore Stop for my hubby so I can sleep, Shutterfly products, and sometimes cosmetics.

  14. Okay, other books by Mary Pierce are:
“When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister?”
“When Did I Stop Being Barbie & Become Mrs. Potato Head?”

As far as Amazon goes, I’ve mainly ordered books there, and once I ordered Benecol Chews for my cholesterol issues…lol…I don’t order clothes online but would be interested in magazines or jewelry components for beading since I’m working on that in my spare time.

    Have a great Labor Day!

  15. I am an Amazon junkie. I love to buy books there. And it sounds like I would love Mary Pierce’s book, “Confessions of a Prayer Wimp.”

I also did alot of my Christmas shopping online last year. I loved it, while everyone was out rushing around I was at home enjoying the season with my family.

Hope you have a Great Labor Day!

  16. One of Mary’s books is entitled “When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister?”

I do most of my gift shopping online now. I order lots of books and I even order my textbooks for the kids online too. I also love shopping on etsy. I would love to see Amazon codes more often. They’re usually specialized and don’t apply to me but once in a while, I hit on one I can use. I shop there a lot so those are super interesting to me.

    Thanks for the fun giveaways!

  17. “When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head?” “Confessions of a Prayer Wimp,” and “When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister?” SO NOW…how many chances did you SAY I could have for mentioning this???? (Kidding :)
    THese books actually sound AMAZING!
    Enter me pleeezzzzeee!!!!

  18. O.K. I think I’ve got this straight! I love the title of the book by Mary Pierce intitled “When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head?” I was never Barbie, but I do feel like Mrs. Potato Head! Kinda shaped like her too!

As far as what I buy online! Mostly books or music downloads for church, or my personal devotions! I love study guides, commentaries, every kind of bible, etc……

    Thanks for these awesome giveaways!!!

  19. All the prizes sound wonderful.

As far as deals, I would love to see practical tips on how to build savings. I just finished reading Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover and I am determined to save that first $1000 and get the emergency fund started. I hope it won’t take too long!

    Thanks for your wonderful giveaways!

  20. “When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister?” — One of Mary’s book titles.

    On deal finder: retro items/deals~~~

  21. Book: “When Did I Stop Being a Barbie and Become a Mrs. Potato Head?” You just have to love that title. I’m so glad I found this sight at “heartchoices. com” which is another site I like to check. At any rate, I popped over to check out Laurel’s sight, and found the contest, which seems like fun, but also was glad to find out about the books. They all seem applicable to me. I intend to purchase the above mentioned. I’m not sure I ever really related to Barbie, but for sure, Mrs. Potato Head has been showing up in my mirror lately!

  22. Happy Labor Day/Mule Day! One of Mary’s books is titled “Confessions of a Prayer Wimp!” Humor is this type of book is welcomed! Mule Day is an annual Labor Day celebration in Alabama. It sounds quite fun! In reply to your question about
“Mrs.Deal Finder”, I would like to see more Etsy or blog site specials/deals. Please enter me in your drawings. It is appreciated! Thanks…..Cindi

  23. This is going to be a fun week, Laurel!

Sad to say, I’ve never read any of Mary’s books. BUT, after reading your interview with her, I think it’s time! I really like the title, “When Did I Quit Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head”, so I think I’ll start there!

I love the idea of Deal Finder. I don’t buy a lot of clothing online because I’m hard to fit, but…. I do shop the Cabelas catalog (I’m a mountain woman and like that Woolrich look.). I did see a couple of dresses I liked on Eddie Bauer on clearance, but they weren’t in my size. Eddie Bauer is just one of those stores I’ve never gone into.

Things I shop for online…housewares, flowers, ebay deals, pet meds.

Now that would be a good one to add…pet meds and toys, etc.

I’ve got a blogorversary giveaway going on this week if you care to drop by!

    See you tomorrow.

  24. One of Mary’s books is “Confessions of a Prayer Wimp”

I’m a brand new mom – ahh! – and spend most of my shopping online looking for deals on formula, diapers, and baby clothes. So I would love to find more deals :)

I love your blog – this is my first time here – and certainly not my last!

  25. Wow, I can cheat here, now, can’t I? But I don’t need to, because I have Mary Pierce’s hilarious book, “When did I stop being Barbie and become Mrs. Potato Head.” right upstairs in my closet. I loved it!!

Now, I follow the link to give you the feedback for the other giveaway, right? The clear mud is in my eyes. LOL

  26. Here’s one of Mary Pierce’s book titles, “When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head.” Here titles really make me smile and also want to pick one up and read one.

I’d love to see some toys/games that have been kid-tested and/or rated.

  27. One of Mary’s books is “When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head?” :)

And one thing I’d love to see on the Deal Finder site is science fitcion stuff! That’s what I shop for online :) DVD’s, Books and other sci fi merch :D

  28. How about confessions of a prayer wimp! These are books I haven’t read, but they look wonderful!

  29. Pingback: I love Fall Giveaway - Day 2

  30. What an awesome giveaway! Thanks!

One of Mary Pierce’s book is Confessions of a Prayer Wimp.

I buy clothes online, but mostly BOOKS. It would be great to have a section for books; specifically recommended reading for Christian women and age appropriate literature for children. Also for the books, I would suggest having a category of recommended reading involving books that educate while telling a story, such as Tears of the Desert (Re: Darfur’s atrocities).

    Thanks again!

  31. Hi Laurel, what great give aways. I will admit I have not read any books by Mary Pierce, but from the titles I’ve seen I’ll be looking for them. As far as amazon, com, I love the site and by books there and DVD of good family valued entertainment only. I have purchased the whole Janette Oake series, all the movies of Jane Austen’s books as examples. It’s a great site to shop at. Awesome give aways and my congratulations to the winners in advance. God Bless

  32. Thank you for the opportunity to enter to win this lovely give-a-way. You have a great blog! What a blessing to have women like you who proclaim the word of the Lord in such an awesome way. Such encourgament to others!

“Confessions of a prayer wimp, ” is one of Mary Pierces’ books.

    God Bless

  33. When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister?

and I’m not sure what I’d like to see with MrsDealfinder. I have a hard time with those b/c most of them don’t have Canadian deals, so if that counts! lol I’d like more Canadian deals

  34. This is for Day 1 You say to write one title of the book? Okay, I am choosing “Confessios of a Prayer Wimp.”

I haven’t read it, but it sure sounds like a book that I might be able to relate tool :)

  35. “WHEN DID MY LIFE BECOME A GAME OF TWISTER?”

Mule Day? I lived in Alabama for 15 years and never heard of this particular celebration. LOL

I have nine children (and one on the way), so I shop for EVERYTHING online – clothes, toys, baby items.
Christmas gifts? – I buy 90% of them online.

  36. Deal Finder,

I think it is a wonderful site. I would love to see some help ful e-books on the site. I

I need to get back to my homeschooling before my children totally become “untrainable” today.

    Have a blessed day

  38. Can men enter your drawing too? I’m interested in the Amazon gift certificate. Since I mostly purchase books online, my advice for Mrs.DealFinder would be to find some good sites for used books.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

    johnandheidi@pobox.com

  39. 1. I love the title “Confessions of a Prayer Wimp.” Who knew that she was talking about me?!

    3. Can she please do tips on how to clothe my older children on the cheap. Despite the fact that both of them had new pants, they’re looking like high-waters already… and it’s not even cold here yet!

  40. I shop for clothes, books, gifts, pool/hot tub supplies online. The only thing I hate about it is the sometimes outrageous shipping charges. I would love to know when favorite sites are offering free shipping.

  41. One of her books is “When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head?” They all sound good though, they’re now on my wish list. :)

I shop online A LOT. Clothing, food, vitamins, books, etc. Pretty much anything I can find online for a good deal. :)

  42. I have to get the book “Confessions of a Prayer Wimp”…Mary Pierce’s second book…it sounds like it was written for/about me! Yes, other people talk of being Prayer Warriors…I feel like a Prayer Wimp most of the time. Thanks for letting us know about this great author! :o )

  43. I had never heard of the above said Author but went and looked at your interview with her and laughed, those titles are so great not just for a book but literally life, out of the few titles listed I would have to say my favorite is “When Did I Stop Being Barbie And Became Mrs Potato Head”….

As far as deal finders goes, I am a antiquing kinda person, so looking for good second hand deals is a thing for me, maybe tips or suggestions on looking for treasure and not just trash would be a good idea.

PS: this is my first time here and you got a beautiful blog btw

  44. Confessions of a Prayer Wimp sounds like a book I would love to read…

I do a lot of online shopping. Amazon is my favorite place because you can find everything there…

I would like to see good deals on books, items for the home, and stationary type things…
