I saw this cartoon today and laughed out loud. I think I feel like the cow lately. We finished regular season football, but for some reason they love to add on “extra” games. I should not complain this next weekend there is NO football. But during the week because we have three kids on three teams and they seem to want to practice on different days, therefore leaving us taking at least one child to practice each day of the week. Please tell me I will miss this when they are gone….please?
I can not believe October is almost over. This YEAR is almost over. Where has the time gone? (oh yeah, on football fields, ha!) These holidays are gone to be simple in my household. Since hubby is off the week of Thanksgiving, I thought what a great time to have surgery. Yes, I know regular readers you are beginning to think surgery is a regular occurrence here. But this is suppose to be the surgery to end all surgeries (and all monthies, if you get my drift). And Christmas, is going to be a “simple” Christmas, I think it might be just my family for the first time in forever. And you know what, I am really excited about that fact. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE family, but I am in count down mode. Since my oldest is a freshman I feel like I have three more years to make good family memories, yes I know the kids come back but it will not be the same having them here 24/7.
I want to give you a heads up to check my interview on CWO beginning November 1st. I originally planned to take the rest of the year off and concentrate on just reviews (mainly because I have read so many good books I want to tell you about), that is until I read this author’s book. She caught me hook, line and sinker and I had to interview her. Therefore expect December’s list of good books to be a bit longer =)
I have officially cast my vote via early voting, but I think I am with everyone else I can not wait until this election is over. I have OD’ed on election news. Just be sure to VOTE, kay?
I have rambled enough, and you are a sweet friend for listening!! Have a great day!
I get you girl.. Loved the comic too. Hugs… Also, WHERE did this year go?
I was talking with someone the other day and one of us said facetiously, “Only 4 more months till the 2012 campaign starts!”

This comic reminded me of a quote we had in nursing school. We used to say, “I see a light at the end of the tunnel… I just hope it isn’t a train!”.
I too am looking forward and hoping for a quieter adn slower holiday season. We’ll see.
I have also already voted (by mail in ballot).

It’s insane how fast this year is going. Especially considering how slowly the end of the year seemed to go last year when I was pregnant and anxiously looking toward February! Gonna do the voting on Tuesday because let me tell you, the early vote crowds around here are CRAZY!
Loved the cartoon! Too cute!
Laurel, I wanted you to know I’ll be praying for you during your surgery and recovery time. I had mine done at 29 and don’t miss it at all! It was the surgery to end all surgeries regarding that for me, and it was such a huge relief. My life is so much easier now. Although I knew I went through a lot from age 14 to 29, I had no grasp of it until it was gone. I still praise God for it almost 9 years later!
I have your surgery date marked on my calendar and will be praying for you. I know that you WILL feel better … I DID!
It’s always good to laugh so thanks for sharing the cartoon. Enjoy your family time together. I’ll check out your interview. And YES, I did vote!

If that surgery is what I’m thinking it is, you will definitely be wanting and needing a simple Christmas! Allow yourself time to recover, okay?
Hugs! Have a great FREE weekend!
I am sorry you have to have surgery. But it will be nice not to have to be concerned about those organs any more.
I’ll be so glad when this election is over, too.

I had the same surgery you’re hinting at when I was 34 – it was a HUGE relief and the best thing I ever did for myself.
Don’t laugh, but there will come a day when you miss all the running around to practices and games. I sure never thought I would because just between my two girls, it was insane, for years. Still, I’ll admit that I’m really looking forward to my grandchildren starting sports.
Really. I’m not kidding. LOL
It happens that every time I see a political commercial, I turn, be it on the radio or the tv. I’m so sick of it all, from coverage to the adds themselves. Perhaps if much of it were truthful or unbiased, then I might be able to stomach much of it. I figure that I know for whom I’m going to vote; I don’t need to watch any more ugliness/lies.
Besides, He’s still God, and He’s still in control, no matter who God puts in office.
