I ♥ Faces: Thankfulness

On I ♥ Faces this week, they asked us to write a post on thankfulness (using photos). I could write a book because I have so much to be thankful for, but I promise I won’t keep you that long.

“Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 “Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it at all.” 16 And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands upon them. (Mark 10:13-16 NASB)

I am thankful the Lord gave me this 3lb baby over 15 years ago. Right from the very beginning he turned my life upside down and has continued to do so. I know God has great things for this almost man.

I am thankful for my middle child who makes me laugh almost daily. He thinks outside the box, acts outside the box and keeps me on my toes. My first child came to early, this child has been late for everything since birth (was born over a week late).

Son BW

I am thankful for my third child. He is my most sensitive and cares for other people deeply. He, on many occasions, was what kept my sanity intact.

When ever I see this niece I am reminded that God hears our prayers. Even though she was born in Russia there is no doubt in my mind she was born specifically for our family. I praise God daily for bringing her into my sister’s life, but also into mine. I am going to enjoy watching to see what God has planned for this girl.

Sometimes God hears your prayers and then blows your dreams out of the water by giving you an unexpected blessing. I look at this neice and am reminded God hears and loves to bless you beyond your wildest dreams.

Each one of my nieces and nephews hold a special place in my heart, but this sweet girl was the answer to many years of prayers.

Stealing Some Love

Then I look at this sassy girl and CAN NOT GET ENOUGH of her girly-ness. She steals my heart in 1000 ways. The way she smiles the way she loves the girl things I give her. I love the fact she has turned my brother and sweet sister-in-law’s world upside down. Erin McFarland Photography (my sister-in-law) took this picture but I don’t think she will mind I snagged it.

Then my brother and his wife were blind-sided by testosterone. Oh the fun they are going to have in the years ahead, I LOVE IT. I was there to take care of these boys several weeks after they were born. They stole my heart and have never returned it (which is fine with me!). I can not wait to watch them grow.

I have one more sweet niece and two more nephews who have captured this Aunties heart. I don’t have permission to post pictures of them, but know the two boys are such a joy to me and my niece is doing her best to keep the two boys in line.

Each one of these children have blessed my heart in ways I could never have imagined. Each blessed me differently but each profoundly in their own special way.

This is my story of Thankfulness. Head on over to I ♥ Faces for more stories of thankfulness.

  1. I did my post on kids as well…and I thought that was the easy answer, to easily say you are thankful for your kids. But a lot of the “thankful” posts are about children, and gosh, isn't it a great thing to be thankful for? Love the pics!

  2. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. What a great list of special children. Children are definitely something to be thankful for, right?
