Robin you know I thought of you and took the picture of my feet, that one is just for you girl =))

After visiting Charleston, I have to say I am sad many of our churches have done away with steeples. I loved looking at all the church steeples, you also see their relatively new suspension bridge, and one of the many beautiful historical homes.

Above is a picture of Fort Sumter, it is water access only. I enjoyed walking around the grounds of history, I try to close my eyes and wonder what it was like. At the fort is was not to much comfort that is for sure. The board walk is where we at lunch over looking the harbor, and where we got on the tour boat ride. Late one night we stopped in at Henry’s to watch one of the Championship Basketball games (hey, it is hubby’s vacation too =). I did not mind I sat there and people watched.

While manly man and I were gone, the boys were at a Christian Boys Camp. Below is a picture I think I am going to treasure for a lifetime. There are three stars on the picture showing each of my children praying. I need to have this framed to encourage me during the difficult times.

It is good to be back, to sleep in my own bed, to have renewed perspective, and feeling refreshed. Now back to my regular scheduled program….Mt. Laundry.

First off — YEP, MISSED YOU!

Second .. I’m so thrilled you guys got away to such a beautiful place. The one good thing about possibly having to move for transplant it that Birmingham , AL is a possibility.

I’m a sucker for the South. I want to go home.

Welcome back! Isn’t Charleston a lovely city? Love the picture of your feet! The harbor tour was one of my favorite things to do in Charleston.

I’m so glad you got to do this. Your pictures are lovely, especially the one of your feet, which tells me you really relaxed on this trip.

Love the photo of the boys praying too. You’re right. It kind of melts your heart.

Welcome home Laurel – and of course you were missed. Isn’t Charleston lovely? We were there several years ago, and I’d love to go back again.
The picture is precious. The stuff mother’s hearts treasure.
Have a blessed weekend.

Glad you’re back safely! And that you had a good time. :) Those are great photos. I’ve been to Fort Sumter! I think I was seven… ;) My dad was actually stationed at the Sumter Air Force base in the early sixties.

Laurel, First, I gotta tell you, as I scrolled down the first picture (before I read the text), I was GRINNING bigtime :) . LOVE those kind of feet pictures and I wondered if maybe Miss Pensieve crossed your mind when you took it. Then, I read it and I grinned even bigger. There’s something really sweet about knowing you’re being thought of by friends–the blogging variety or those in real life.

Second, selfishly, I’m glad you were out for a bit :/… I cannot get into a summer blogging rhythm, and have barely been able to write, read and comment. Life is FULL of kids and all things summer, so something is having to give, and that something is blogging. During this season, I realize how much I’ve come to enjoy it.

Then again, maybe the semi-break is a good thing…:).

Glad you’re back, it was fun to know you’ve been toolin’ around one of the greatest cities on the planet, and I’m glad you had fun (and have those precious memories/pictures of your boys, too).

Isn’t the bridge almost artistic?

Good to have you back in bloggyville.

Love the picture of your boys praying. I hope they had a great time too :)

Glad you could enjoy a good getaway, and so precious, your raising children who pray. The picture of them really would be an encouraging reminder to keep handy, when days are less peaceful than others.

But don’t get weary in well doing (I know I’ve heard that somewhere else) even when childhood challenges do happen, remember how much the world needs parents like you.
