I am joining in this week’s BlogHop favorite recipe. I can not wait to read other favorite recipes, I seem to be in a cooking slump so ideas will be awesome! Feel free to join in.

    Roast Sticky Chicken

Easy to make but you need to start it the day before you plan to serve it.

    4 teaspoons of Salt
    2 teaspoons of Paprika
    1 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper
    1 teaspoon of Onion powder
    1 teaspoon of Thyme
    1 teaspoon White pepper
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
    1 large roasting chicken
    1 cup of chopped onion.

Combine all spices. Remove giblets and rub the spice mixture inside and out, evenly distributing. Place in resealable plastic bag, seal and refrigerate over night.

When ready to cook, suff cavity with onions and place in shallow baking pan. Roast, uncovered in shallow baking pan. Cook at 250 degrees (yes the chicken is cook all the way through) for 5 hours. It will make your house smell very nice. After the first hour, bast chicken with pan juices, every 1/2 hour or so.

    Slice and serve.

  1. I have a feeling I am going to be printing a lot of new things to try for my family this week, this looks great!

  2. Thanks for the reminder about the blog hop! I saw your post in my google reader and went ahead and added a recipe. I've been wanting to particpate in a blog hop.
    This looks yummy.
Have a good day on Tuesday!

  3. oh – that chicken looks so yummy!!!!! I need some new recipes, but right now, most of the time our kitchen stays cold – too hot to make hot meals. We mostly eat salads this time if year. Maybe I should share my favorite tuna-salad sometime :)

  4. I have everything I need to make this. I'm going to have to give it a try. (Not this week though as we are pushing temps of 100 and the thought of the oven on makes me cringe.) :-) YUM!!

  5. Oh, my goodness! We love this chicken. And, it's so simple in the crock pot. We love to use the leftovers to make homemade chicken pot pie.

Thanks for stopping by my blog for the blog hop!

  6. My family loves chicken like this and I usually buy it already seasoned at the store. This sounds like a great alternative that I can easily make myself. Thank you so much for sharing it! Stopping by from the blog hop.

  7. This looks great Lori. I can't wait until Brent puts the cookbook together of all the recipes. I'll have lots of new cooking ideas. BTW, it rained this morning in Phoenix finally. Of course, now the skies are clear and the sun is shining.
