Fifty Cheap Dates

Shalee is hosting Cheap date ideas today. Head on over there to get some great ideas.

Here are a few of my cheap dates.

1. After the kids go to bed put tons of pillows and blankets on the living room floor and watch a good movie, with candles and yummy snack food. It is like a camp out.

2. Since I live in Florida, walking the beach while it is chilly hand in hand is romantic.

3. If your children are in school you could always meet for a nice lunch during the day, then have a nice dinner with the kids.

I look forward to reading all your great suggestions. As you can see I am in need of a little creativity myself.

Head on over to Shalee’s Diner for more ideas.

  1. Love the indoor camp-out idea. Sometimes reverting back to a favorite childhood memory really helps to let your inhibitions disappear.

And I would LOVE to walk on a beach… We would just have to fly to one first. Does walking around a sandbox count?

Thanks for sharing your great ideas, LW!

  2. I, too, love the indoor camp-out idea! And, oh, a nice walk on the beach sounds heavenly! Especially right now…it is cold! Thanks for sharing your ideas with us! I posted a few of our favorites, too! Have a great day!

  3. while you could not pay me enough to move back to FL, i have to admit that a nice walk down st. pete beach after dark is truly romantic.

  4. walking on the beach hand in hand is definitely romantic… then add a little spice in the end :)

  5. I loved your ideas! I have never thought about the “indoor Camp-out” we may have to give it a try~

  6. Since Rob and I chose to run up all our credit cards instead of going on cheap dates, I didn’t participate in this one. Our dates now usually involve House or American Idol. LOL

But I sure like your idea of a stroll on the beach. Of course, it wouldn’t be cheap for me since we’re a little short of beaches our here in western Colorado. Still…a girl can dream!

  7. No beaches but lakes and creeks work. I think walking in any kind of natural setting can be romantic.

    Thanks for sharing!

  8. Very cool ideas, Laurel :) …Too bad my hubby and I work too far apart in order to have a lunch together. But that would something I would like to do. Since the 14th is on Wednesday and Daniel has to work till late – we have the home to ourself *grin*…

Thank you for sharing your ideas of a cheap Valentine date…

  9. I like #1 and am actually looking forward to #3 (I say that now, but I’ll be crying when they’re gone). It’s 10 degrees here, so a walk on the beach is out for me.
