To begin with if you missed my big announcement see here…now on to a book I HIGHLY recommend.

As many of you know, I read a lot of books.  Sometimes despite my first impression God lays certain books on my heart to read, this is one of them.  When I looked at the cover I will be honest it did not appeal to me.  Now after reading this book, I am SURE it will be considered one of my FAVORITE BOOKS OF 2009.  I don’t normally write inside my books but I have marked up Clutter-Free Christianity: What God Really Desires for You by Robert Jeffress.  I will be placing this book in each of my sisters hands sometime by Christmas and begging them to read it.

I enjoy reading blogs that discuss theology, but I have to admit there is to much wrangling back and forth between various theological debates.  Many times leaving us lay people feeling inferior because most of us can not parse the correct answers when discussing what the Christian faith is all about.  Correct theology is important but many times that is not what the Christian faith is all about.  It is all about the condition of your heart. “Unless your heart is right, nothing else can be right.”  Dr. Robert Jeffress shares with us what an obeying heart, a trusting heart, a content heart, a serving heart, and a praying heart looks like to God.

This is a book you will walk away knowing exactly what you need to do and exactly what you need to work on to have a heart that is devoted to Him and who loves other people as much as we love ourselves.
